Welcome to Mira
We're so glad you've taken the first step on your journey to becoming a Pilates teacher. We built a course that will not only deepen your understanding of Pilates, but prepare you to be a confident teacher — in a bright reformer studio four minutes from Mirissa Beach.
“Pilates is the complete coordination of body, mind and spirit.”
You aren't just teaching a workout — you're teaching a way to live better. Teaching Pilates opens up new opportunities to travel and work in any location. Gain flexibility in your career, or teach as a side hustle. It's all up to you.
Why become a Pilates teacher · MiRA Mirissa
What happens during this course
Before you arrive
Complete 20 hours of online study before the course begins. You’ll build your basic foundations in mat and reformer Pilates — the fundamental exercises, Pilates principles, and programming.
Six days at Mira
Take your foundational learning and apply it in a classroom studio during six days at Mira. Deepen your understanding of anatomy and Pilates foundations — and learn how to teach.
Learn by watching
Learn from your favourite teachers by attending classes and critically reviewing different teaching styles. Every class you take is part of your training.
Certification
You’ll practise teaching throughout the course and be given feedback, so by the time the assessment comes you’re already an experienced teacher. The final step: record yourself coaching a mat and reformer class — safe set-ups, confident cueing.
Why train at Mira
We interviewed Pilates graduates to find out what was missing from their training. Then we built the Mira teacher training to be the answer.
The feedback
“The training is too intense and I’m exhausted.”
We’ve optimised the schedule for peak performance, not exhaustion.
The feedback
“Too many students, not enough equipment.”
We believe in intimacy and hands-on time. We have 12 machines, so we limit the course to 12 students.
The feedback
“I ended up spending way more than the tuition fee.”
What you see is what you get. On-site accommodation is included — choose a private room or shared dorm.
The feedback
“I graduated, but I didn’t feel ready to actually teach.”
We don’t kick you out the door on graduation day. Enjoy two additional days on-site with full studio access — free.

Meet the Faculty
With 20+ years of experience, Natalie Meek is an industry veteran dedicated to creating world-class instructors. She brings two decades of technical mastery — and the pro-tips that come with them — to every session.
At Mira, you aren't just learning from a manual; you're learning from decades of collective movement experience. One lead instructor and two assistants guide every session, so you graduate with the precision and confidence of a seasoned expert.
"You aren't just one of many. You'll be guided by one lead instructor and two assistants at all times."
Private or shared — you decide
At Mira, your room isn't just where you sleep — it's where you integrate everything you've learned. Whether you need total silence or a community vibe, we have the perfect space for your journey.
Dorm Room
The community option — train together, recover together. A/C, balcony, and a shared bath. The kind of group that ends up doing morning ice baths together.
Private Room
Total silence when you need it. A double bed, private bathroom with hot water, A/C, and a balcony above the hustle of Mirissa.
Both options include all-day rooftop access and daily morning ice baths — recovery is part of the curriculum, not an upsell.
Pricing
Tuition, certification, accommodation, daily ice baths, and evening yoga — all included. You just choose the room.
Full course and certification with a bed in the shared dorm.

Common questions
The majority of people coming to Pilates teacher training have never taught before. You’ll be in great company.
There are 20 hours of self-paced online learning, plus 18 hours of Pilates classes. Then, once at Mira, six days of hands-on learning to complete prior to certification.
Anatomy and physiology are covered in both the online modules and again during the in-person training. We know anatomy can be daunting and there’s a lot to learn — which is why we cover it twice over.
To gain your certification you’ll need to complete 100% of your online course modules, your participation hours in classes, the teacher-led practical learning in Sri Lanka, and the assessment.
No — it’s free. Enjoy two additional days on-site with full studio access. Use the time to film content, run community classes, and build the confidence to lead before you head home.
